Love this idea… can you share a little more about how this works? I assume location is based on GPS. Is it pulling a METAR or just NOAA weather or a combo? Also, the wind speeds don’t have units…looks like mph vs kts (true?). For logging / history purposes - that detail would be important.
Yes, the location is based on your current GPS position. It is not a METAR which are tied to specific airport locations, but the current weather at that GPS location. Initially this was added for Drone pilots who may be anywhere. It is using the Dark Sky API (Dark Sky). In the future we could look at calling other API’s like you mention from NOAA. We will add the units where it makes sense. It is currently mph for wind, but we can provide both.
