QuickSync Information

There is some confusion on how QuickSync works. Because a checklist can have one-to-many sessions, it sometimes seems like it is not working. In this post, I explain how it works.

If you are not logged in to MiraCheck Cloud when you click on it, it first prompts you to login. If you are logged in, when you click on it, currently there is no progress indicator yet as it is working so it may seem like it did nothing. What QuickSync does is it requests all new data from MiraCheck Cloud and downloads it to the device. One thing to understand is the sessions concept of a checklist. MiraCheck always keeps the last session even if you close the app, or a phone call comes in, or you power off, or it crashes. You may have checked a bunch of items that you don’t want to lose. You specifically have to tell the checklist you want a new session with the Reset Current Checklist function. So after a QuickSync, although it downloaded the new content, it doesn’t overwrite the current session of a checklist you may have in progress. So after the QuickSync, run the Reset Current Checklist function to see the new content.

A quick tip is that if you first load the checklist before doing the QuickSync, so that you are viewing it, and then go to the menu to do a QuickSync, it will bring up a prompt asking you if you want to reset the current checklist. This also give you an indication when it is finished with the QuickSync.

In summary, first load the checklist that you will be editing in MiraCheck Cloud if you are editing the content from a different device like a PC. Then when you click QuickSync on the mobile device, once it is finished it will prompt you to reset the checklist.
