I have had a look at the DA20 Checklists as I am flying one and wanted to try the app at some point.
I noticed that the free one is a quiet random mix between German and English. In addition, unknown items are added, e.g. “Safety Check” within Before Engine Start. Don’t know what this is. Also, I couldn’t find any alignment with the checklists according to the manuals (not DV20-80 or 100, either German or English).
For the US market it would definitely help to have a DA20 C1 version as this is the common type here (no Rotax / Katana…). Any chance to get this checklist included?
Regards Sascha,
I find POH to be too long and do not contain some check items I like to include as an “aid for memory” & notations…
For my use I find MiraCheck very flexible and able to be fully customised to have a checklist exactly how you prefer. -happy flying with MiraCheck. -Peter
The ‘free one’ you are referring to, most likely has been created by a fellow aviator and Goose pilot. That being said, this most likely was a private individual (apparently speaking German & English) who has build a checklist that works well for them. Afterwards they then decided to offer it to other users.
You have the following options:
Build the checklist yourself → that is what @PMitch refers to with the customizations and flexibility
Send us the checklist you would like to have in Goose via email (support@aerosys.io) and request a quote for our import service
There are also two (2) checklist versions available for purchase and in total three (3) community based procedures. You are able to click on ‘Preview’ before you add/buy them to see how they work for you.
The thing to understand is that many of the checklists were created by individuals. That often means they consolidated some items, removed some items, and added some items, all of which make sense to them. I’m sure “Safety Check” before start means something to them, just as the “Switches On” and “FMS Setup” in my personal checklists means something to me, even if it’s meaningless to you.
While there are some pre-fab checklists which track the POH checklists religiously, many are not. Ultimately, Mira/Goose is a checklist customization tool in which, just like paper ones, you can customize to fit your needs.
